How we work & FAQs

The answers, before you have to ask.

A new floor is a considered purchase, and most people have the same questions before they commit. Here's how a job runs from first visit to final finish — and honest answers to what clients ask most.

Step by step

From first visit to final finish.

01

Home visit & measure

Jamie comes to you, measures up properly and talks through the options for your rooms, subfloor and budget. Samples can be left with you so you decide in your own light, at your own pace — no pressure to commit.

02

A clear, fair quote

You get an itemised, plain-English quote covering supply and fit. Reviews mention it again and again: the quote is reasonable and it is what he charges — no surprises, even when a job turns out to be more work than it first looked.

03

Fitted right, left tidy

The team arrives on the dates agreed and on time — rare these days — works cleanly around your home, and does not leave until the finish is right. Then everything is cleared away and hoovered, ready to walk on.

Common questions

Frequently asked.

Do you supply the flooring as well as fit it?

+

Yes — we're a supplier as well as a fitter. Most customers have us source and lay the whole floor, but if you've already found something you love we're happy to fit that too, or supply it for you to lay yourself. We'll even source ranges we've not fitted before to get you exactly what you want.

What types of flooring do you install?

+

Karndean and other luxury vinyl (LVT), engineered and solid wood, laminate, and carpet — plus stairs and landings to match. If you're not sure what suits your rooms, budget and how the house is used, that's exactly what the first home visit is for.

How does getting a quote work?

+

Jamie comes to your home, measures up properly and talks through the options. Samples can be left with you so you can decide in your own light and your own time. You then get a clear, itemised quote for supply and fit — and, as our reviews point out, the price is reasonable and it's what you're charged.

Do I need to acclimatise the flooring before it's fitted?

+

For wood and some LVT, yes. Boards are best delivered a few days ahead so they settle to your home's temperature and humidity before fitting — it stops gaps and lifting later on. We'll arrange this with you and factor it into the timings so there are no surprises.

Do you prepare the subfloor and take away the old flooring?

+

Always. A floor is only as good as what's beneath it, so we lift and dispose of the old covering, check the subfloor for damp and movement, and level it before anything new goes down. Skipping this is the usual reason cheap installs fail — we don't skip it.

Can you sort out a floor another fitter got wrong?

+

Yes, and we're often asked to. Whether it's boards lifting, uneven joins or tiles that need re-cutting because of a bad job next door, we'll look at it honestly and put it right rather than push you into starting over.

How long will my floor take, and will it be messy?

+

It depends on the size and the prep needed, but we tell you up front how long it'll take and what's involved, and we manage that expectation as we go. What clients mention most is how clean and tidy we leave things — we work around your home and clear up properly at the end.

Which areas do you cover?

+

We're based in Riverhead, Sevenoaks, and cover Sevenoaks, Westerham, Edenbridge, Maidstone, Orpington, Bromley, Dartford, the Medway towns (Chatham, Rochester, Sittingbourne) and Royal Tunbridge Wells — plus the surrounding villages. If you're just outside, ask anyway.

Question not answered here?

Just ask Jamie — there's no such thing as a daft flooring question, and he'd rather talk it through properly before anyone commits to anything.
